The Rotary of Brazil formed a team to compete in the Rotary Club of Linton's 3rd Annual Chili Cook-off, Saturday, October 29. On Wednesday, October 12 members of the Rotary of Brazil joined the Wabash Valley Community Foundation in its annual Dictionary Day taking place throughout the Wabash Valley. Local Rotarians funded and assisted in delivering paperback dictionaries to all third grade students in Clay Community schools. The Rotary Club of Brazil recently awarded proceeds from the 4th of July Celebration Fish Fry fundraiser to Northview High School Shown accepting a check for $6,275.21 for the Northview Marching Knights from President Duane Butt are Music/Band Director Bob Medworth and Band/Guard Director Ruthann Medworth.



Rotary of Brazil outgoing 2010-2011 president Dr. Miranda Goodale (left) passed the gavel over to 2011-2012 president Duane Butt (right). Butt is a Primerica Representative, owns the Primerica Building at 2 E. National Ave., and runs The Outpost, a sporting goods, guns and tackle business in Brazil.

The top 10 students in Northview High School's Class of 2011 were featured as guest speakers during the Wednesday, May 18 Rotary of Brazil meeting. After giving brief introductions and sharing their post-graduation plans, students participated in a question and answer session before being presented with Rotary 4-way Test pens and certificates of recognition. The Rotary of Brazil recently welcomed two new members and they were inducted into the club on May 5th at the Elks Lodge during the weekly lunch meeting. Three members of the Rotary of Brazil board represented the local club at the District 6580 annual conference in Evansville on April 29 and 30. They were Secretary Mary Jo Alumbaugh (left), President-Elect Duane Butt (middle), and President Miranda Goodale. During the conference, District Governor Steve LaRoche (not shown) also presented Dr. Goodale with an Outstanding Club President 2010-2011 Award, which is an engraved rosewood desk clock, as a token of thanks for her service as Brazil club president.
