About our Club...
The Rotary Club of Brazil is our county's largest service club, open to both men and women. We currently have about 35 members. Becoming a Rotary member is relatively easy, however, there are some things to consider. We expect regular attendance at our meetings, in fact, Rotary International requires that members attend at least 50% of meetings. If meetings are missed they can be made up locally by attending a board meeting, or attending a Rotary meeting at another club. Making up at clubs in different cities, states and even nations is one of the most interesting aspects of being a Rotarian! Our meetings are every Wednesday at noon and last approximately 1 hour.
In order to join the Brazil Rotary Club you must be invited by one of our members, then attend three meetings as a guest and see if our club is of interest to you. If you are as excited as we are about serving our community--by funds raised in our sole fundraising event, the 4th of July Celebration --and the World with Rotary International Projects, then you fill out a membership application, give it to your sponsor (the person who invited you to Rotary), and it will be submitted to our board for approval. Upon that approval and payment of your annual dues of $125, you can become a member of our club.
Our meetings include lunch for $11, and an interesting speaker each week. After a short time as a member, you will probably be asked to participate in one of our committees. Our officers and committee members are listed below. (The Rotary year begins July 1 and ends June 30)
Our biggest project is our annual 4th of July Celebration. This is how we raise most of our funds to be used in a variety of ways each year.
